Technical Program Manager – Electronics Manufacturing

As a **Technical Program Manager – Electronics Manufacturing**, you will be deployed to our cellular manufacturing site in **Penang, Malaysia**, where you’ll lead programs that bring new products from design to volume production. You’ll serve as the key technical interface between engineering, operations, and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth execution across prototyping, NPI, and high-volume builds. This role is ideal for someone with **strong electronics manufacturing experience** who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of hardware and manufacturing programs, from NPI through mass production.
  • Drive factory readiness including process validation, production line bring-up, test strategy implementation, and yield tracking.
  • Serve as the on-site technical liaison between internal teams and external manufacturers, ensuring alignment on product specs, production schedules, and quality targets.
  • Support and manage hardware certification processes, including regulatory testing and documentation.
  • Own the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process from concept through factory implementation.
  • Monitor program metrics (cost, schedule, quality) and proactively address gaps or risks.
  • Collaborate closely with production engineering and operations to optimize yield, throughput, and quality.
  • Partner with ERP and data teams to ensure traceability, process tracking, and reporting.
  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective action efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives at the manufacturing site.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware program management or manufacturing engineering in electronics or wireless hardware.
  • Experience supporting factory operations, ideally in SMT, PCBA assembly, module-level integration, or cellular product builds.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, process qualification (FAI, PFMEA, etc.), and quality tracking.
  • Proficiency in managing ECOs, production BOMs, and certification workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on-site with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and execution skills in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working at or with a CM (contract manufacturer) or ODM.
  • Familiarity with cellular modules, RF test stations, or automated production lines.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems.
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), and tools like Jira, Confluence, or PLM systems.
  • Enthusiasm for start-up dynamics and willingness to wear multiple hats.
